What is True Comfort for A Noodle Story?

It’s got one of the longest queues at Amoy Street Food Centre, for good reason, because this ‘Singapore-style’ ramen was awarded the Bib Gourmand in the Michelin Guide Singapore 2016.

Chefs Gwern and Ben of A Noodle Story started because they couldn’t find a good bowl of noodles in Singapore at an affordable price. Nowadays they sell more than 200 bowls a da!

“Everyday we focus on our core belief of serving the customers delicious dishes for an affordable price”

Getting these bowls ready in a hot hawker kitchen is hard, physical work. They work 5.5 days a week, start at 7:30am with their preparations for lunch and leave around 9pm after serving dinner. So you can imagine that comfort is important for them to be productive as a chef.

We asked them what True Comfort means for them. Watch the video below to see their response.

“Good underwear would do Wonders”

You should definitely try their delicious noodles accompanied with Hong Kong-style wontons, soy-flavoured hot spring egg, meltingly-tender cha-su and a crispy potato-wrapped prawn. You can find A Noodle Story at Amoy Street Food Centre, stall #01-39.
